A Vision Becoming Reality: Inside the Latest Progress at Ken Sargent House
Exciting progress continues at Ken Sargent House as the structure rapidly takes form over the winter months. Despite the snow and cold temperatures, crews have been making steady headway, and the building is now clearly emerging both inside and out.
Framing Well Underway
Interior framing is substantially advanced throughout the building. Hallways are now fully defined, and individual suites and common areas are clearly taking shape. Walking through the corridors, you can see the layout come to life! Rooms are framed, doorways are set, and the overall flow of the space is now easy to visualize.
Ceiling joists and structural framing are in place across both levels, providing a strong framework for the next stages of construction. The installation of temporary lighting throughout the corridors has also improved visibility, allowing trades to continue working efficiently as daylight hours remain short.
Windows Installed & Exterior Progress
A major milestone has been the installation of many of the building’s windows. With windows now in place along large sections of the exterior, the building is becoming increasingly enclosed. Natural light is beginning to fill the interior spaces, offering a first glimpse of what future residents will experience.
Exterior sheathing and weather barriers are also progressing steadily. The building envelope is coming together, helping protect the structure from winter conditions while preparing for upcoming insulation and exterior finishing work.
Structural Features & Key Areas
Significant structural elements are now clearly visible, including steel support columns and concrete block sections that anchor key areas of the building. These components provide both strength and durability, ensuring the long-term stability of the structure.
Openings for common spaces and larger window areas highlight the welcoming design of the facility. Upper-level framing continues to advance, and balcony and exterior wall framing are now defined, adding dimension to the overall architectural profile.
Site Activity
Construction activity remains strong on-site. Equipment and crews continue coordinating deliveries, material staging, and structural work. Even with snow covering the ground, work has moved forward efficiently, and the project footprint is fully established.
What’s Next
With framing nearing completion and much of the exterior enclosure underway, upcoming phases will focus on:
-
Completing the building envelope
-
Installing insulation and mechanical systems
-
Continuing electrical and plumbing rough-ins
-
Preparing for interior drywall and finishing work
Each milestone brings your future Ken Sargent House closer to becoming a safe, welcoming space for families on their medical journey. We’re excited to share the steady progress and look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues to move ahead.
