From Framing to Finishes: Progress Continues at Ken Sargent House
Exciting progress continues at Ken Sargent House as the project moves from structural framing into full enclosure and interior development. With winter conditions firmly in place, crews are making steady advancements to keep the build on schedule.
Exterior Work Well Underway
The building’s full structural framing is now complete, and the overall form of Ken Sargent House is clearly visible. Roof trusses have been installed, and the structure is fully framed across all levels.
Exterior sheathing and weather barrier wrap have been applied to most of the building, protecting it from the elements as work continues. Window installation is substantially complete, with units secured and flashed to ensure proper sealing. Crews are using boom lifts to finalize detailing around upper windows and roofline transitions.
Along the foundation, insulation and waterproofing systems are being installed to strengthen the building envelope and improve long-term durability and energy performance.
Temporary hoarding and tarping have been put in place to allow interior work to proceed despite cold temperatures. On-site heating equipment helps maintain workable conditions for trades and materials.
Interior Framing and Bathroom Installations
Inside, major progress has been made on the corridor and partition framing. Hallways are now clearly defined, and individual rooms and support spaces have been fully laid out.
Pre-fabricated washroom units have been delivered and installed within framed spaces. These units include built-in accessibility features such as grab bar supports and integrated seating, ensuring the building will meet the needs of future residents.
With framing largely complete, the project is preparing to transition into mechanical and electrical rough-ins, insulation, and the next phase of interior finishes.
